Are you a resident of Antioch, CA and are looking for a veterinarian? East Hills Veterinary Hospital can provide preventive and general care for your pet
We are located conveniently near the Somersville Road exit from Highway 4. Our office is on Buchanan Road between Gentrytown Drive and Somersville Road. We consider pets to be members of our families, and we hope to provide them the longest, happiest and healthiest lives possible. However, as our pets age, changes in behavior and physical condition inevitably occur. Body systems begin to slow down. The coat and skin change, joints stiffen, the senses are less keen. Just as in people, several diseases increase in likelihood as our pets age. The good news is that many of these conditions can be controlled or even prevented with early detection and treatment. This is where we can make a significant difference for our pets. Please ask about our Annual Membership Plans and our Well Puppy/Well Kitten Plans. Special care for our puppy or kitten can pay extra dividends later in life!

Spay and Neuter Surgery
We believe in providing affordable spay and neuter services while still maintaining high standards of care. Our spay and neuter prices include preoperative and postoperative pain medications. We invite you to visit our veterinary hospital, and we will be happy to show you our surgical facilities! Not all veterinary hospitals provide the same level of care.
Dental Care
Dental disease is the most common problem seen in our pet population today. Over 85% of all dogs and cats presented to veterinarians are affected by dental problems. This is especially true of the smaller breeds. The great majority of these are suffering from periodontal disease. This periodontal disease is what causes bad breath as well as destruction of the bone supporting the teeth, resulting in tooth loss. Our pet’s teeth must be maintained in exactly the same manner as our own. To help maintain oral hygiene, we offer services including cleaning, polishing, extractions, dental x-rays, endodontics and oral surgery.
Radiology and Ultrasonography
Radiology and Ultrasound are critical tools in making accurate diagnoses. When needed, we have a mobile internal medecine specialist who visits our veterinary hospital by appointment.
Boarding
We do board dogs and cats at our veterinary hospital. Please stop by and we will be happy to show you our facilities.
Pet Food and Supplies
We offer the best foods for your dog or cat, and we keep our prices competitive with local pet stores.
Laboratory Services
For speed and accuracy in treatment, we maintain our own laboratory and the latest in diagnostic technology. Laboratory tests are an important means by which we can diagnose blood disorders, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, infection, cancer, thyroid disease and other hormonal problems. Our in-house lab allows us to get the necessary results to treat animals in a manner that is both quicker and less expensive than would be possible using an outside lab.
Vaccinations
You already know that one of the most effective ways of protecting your pet’s health is to provide immunization against various common and sometimes deadly diseases. What you may not have known is that we are now offering core vaccinations free with your animal’s annual consultation! This includes rabies and DHPP vaccinations for dogs and rabies and FVRCP vaccinations for cats. Call today to schedule and appointment (925)754-7960!
Selected Prescription Drugs
For your convenience, we dispense many medications from our own pharmacy. If we do not carry a particular medication, we can write a prescription to take to a local pharmacy.
Community Service
We work closely with the Antioch Animal Shelter to assist them with animals in their care. We are concerned about the welfare of stray and abandoned pets, and we do our best to help with their medical needs. Our doctors visit the shelter three times a week to advise the staff at the shelter regarding the needs of shelter animals, and many of the dogs and cats from the shelter visit our veterinary hospital to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We encourage you to visit the shelter and adopt a pet in need!
